Why is the free public bulk lookup limited to 5 domains per query?
Top-level domain registries (e.g. Verisign for .com, PIR for .org) and accredited registrars enforce strict TCP port-43 and HTTPS rate limits. To protect our infrastructure and maintain consistent lookup availability for all users, free queries are batched in groups of 5 with sliding window rate limiting.
Does the bulk lookup tool use RDAP or legacy port-43 WHOIS?
The engine queries standardized ICANN RDAP (Registration Data Access Protocol) over HTTPS first. If a registry has not yet migrated or if the TLD requires port 43 (such as select country-code ccTLDs), our dual-stack engine securely falls back to port-43 socket queries with strict IP pinning and SSRF filtering.
What information is included in the exported CSV?
The downloaded CSV file contains Domain Name, Current Status, Sponsoring Registrar, Creation Date, Expiration Date, Calculated Days Remaining until Expiry, and Configured Primary Nameservers.
